GoodBye Pest…

…Hello Peace

When Spiders Show Up, Peace of Mind Disappears

Even if you know they’re mostly harmless, spiders in your home or business can be unsettling — especially when they seem to show up out of nowhere. Spiders are common year-round in the Midwest, but fall is when they’re most visible, often making their way indoors to escape the cold.

At CE Solution, we understand the unease that comes with spider sightings. Whether it’s cobwebs in the corners or a larger species skittering across the floor, our licensed technicians will handle it quickly, thoroughly, and respectfully — so you can get back to feeling at home in your own space.

What Attracts Spiders Indoors?

Spiders typically come inside looking for two things: shelter and food (other insects). That means if you’re seeing spiders, there may also be another pest problem at play.

Cracks in your foundation, gaps in doors and windows, cluttered storage areas, and outdoor lighting (which attracts flying bugs) can all create a welcoming environment for spiders — especially in basements, garages, attics, and storage rooms.

Common Spiders in Michigan and Indiana

Here are some of the most common species we see and treat in our region:

  • American House Spider
Small, gray, or tan, and known for building messy cobwebs in corners and basements.

  • Brown Recluse
Rare in our area but potentially dangerous. Identified by a violin-shaped mark on its back; seek treatment immediately if spotted.

  • Cellar Spider (Daddy Longlegs)
Long, thin legs and harmless, but their webs can quickly become unsightly.

  • Jumping Spider
Small, fuzzy, and active during the day. Often seen near windows or sunny indoor areas.

  • Wolf Spider
Large, fast-moving, and intimidating but not venomous. Often found in garages or basements.

  • Yellow Sac Spider
Small and pale yellow; may bite when trapped against the skin. Often found near ceilings or under furniture.

Not sure what you’re seeing? That’s what we’re here for. Our technicians will identify the species and explain the best course of action.
